Graphic Design Beginning II, Fall 2014
Instructor: Alexander Polakov
For this project I had to pick a favorite novel and create a skateboard design for it. I decided to choose The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton. A tragic story of a lady who becomes a victim of luxury, and social status. For the design, I placed the protagonist, Lily Barth, in the center of the skateboard and surrounded her with fancy silver and gold designs. The design represents how luxury and riches eventually entraps and suffocates Lily Barth and leads her to her tragic downfall.
